Meet Our Staff

Scottie Shelley, ACNP

Born in Bristol, Tennessee. Avid University of Tennessee Volunteers fan.

He served in the US Navy from 1995 - 2001 as a Hospital Corpsman, graduating in the top 10% of his class. During his enlistment, he served on the Blue side and with the US Marines, FMF.

During this time, he was awarded the Surface Warfare insignia. He was the lowest-ranked enlisted serviceman to ever receive this award in the history of the USS Kauffman.

He also received the Navy Achievement Medal four times while serving with the US Marines. Two of those awards were for life saving measures.

Four months after his Honorable Discharge and starting Nursing School, September 11, 2001 (9-11) happened, so he re-enlisted in the US Army Reserves at McEntire Base in Columbia, SC, serving 2 more years as an Army medic.

After graduating from Nursing School he worked as a Critical Care and Emergency Nurse for the next several years.

In 2011, he graduated from the University of South Carolina with an Advanced Practice Nursing degree and practiced at Moore Regional and Providence hospitals as a Hospitalist and in Critical Care Pulmonology and Gerontology medicine around South Carolina.

In 2017, he opened his own clinic, Sunset Primary Care, focusing on the underinsured in his community.

During COVID in 2020, he served local nursing homes and assisted living communities at personal risk during those unprecedented times, laying groundwork and establishing new protocols for the nursing home and local communities. He saw patients whom hospitals and local doctors' offices turned away during this time because they were sick.

From 2017 to present, he has owned Sunset Primary Care, where his wife Janette, who is Family and Psychiatric certified, also practices. Both are seeing patients from the underinsured community.
